Easy 东坡肉 using Cast Iron Pot
Ingredients
600g Pork Belly (cut in cubes)
3 stalks of Spring Onions (cut into half)
10 Garlics (remove skin)
6 slices of Young Gingers
50g Yellow Rock Sugar
50ml Mirin / Cooking Wine

Sauce
100ml Light Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp Five Spice Powder
100ml Light Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp Five Spice Powder
5 Hard Boiled Eggs
Method
Place Spring Onions in the pot, add Garlics and Ginger Slices. Place Pork Cubes skin facing down on top and Hard Boiled Eggs to fill the pot. Add Rock Sugar on top of the Pork cubes.
Place Spring Onions in the pot, add Garlics and Ginger Slices. Place Pork Cubes skin facing down on top and Hard Boiled Eggs to fill the pot. Add Rock Sugar on top of the Pork cubes.
Pour Mirin over, follows by Sauce. Bring the pot to boil on high heat and when it is boiling, turn to low flame and cover lid. Slow cook for 1hr.
Open lid and overturn the pork cubes and eggs and slow cook for another 1hr. Serve with rice.
