Pumpkin Peanut Pao by Zac Ng



Recipe for the pao skin
Ingredients:
Pao flour - 250g
Instant yeast - 3g
Pumpkin puree - 50g
Fine sugar - 35g
Baking powder - 1/2tsp
Shortening - 10g
Warm water - 130ml

Method:
1. Hand mix all the ingredients (except water) until combined.
2. Using bread maker knead function, add all the ingredients, slowly pour in water will mixing you get the right consistency dough. Knead until the dough turns elastic and smooth.
3. Take out the dough and cut it into 50g pcs and roll it smooth. Assemble it with filling of your choice and cover it it and let it proof for 45 min.
4. Steam it for 15 minutes. Off the heat and open the lid after 5 minutes.
For the peanut filling:
Simple just mix peanut + fine sugar + a bit of oil + pumpkin puree and roll it into small balls
